Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and may close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home using a combined gross household income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence revenue doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want nsfas status check not submit any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the proper Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in here South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last check here day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
